Update on Munkhuush

Right now we are listening to a variety of worship music on YouTube.  When the music plays is when he is the calmest.  (David's harp anyone?)

And in my crazy charismatic way, I've been posting Scriptures and little prophetic doodles on his bed and around the room.  Gotta leave a mark before I leave tomorrow.  Also, I've been daily--and more often--anointing him with oil and making declarations.  And I brought a prayer cloth I saved from Cindy Jacobs and have laid that on him. 

"BLESSED be the LORD my Rock, Who trains my hands for war, And my fingers for battle— My lovingkindness and my fortress, My high tower and my deliverer, My shield and the One in whom I take refuge."  Psalms 144:1-2

A couple thoughts to leave you with as you pray.  I refuse to believe the theology that God sent this illness to teach us something, to try our faith, or for any other mysterious reason.  This is the condition of the battle we are in, but the illness is not the will of God.  Our hands are being trained for war.  So let us war and not just accept the earthly reality we see.  Let's bring heaven to earth.  Whatever we bind on earth will be bound in heaven.  Whatever we lose on earth will be loosed in heaven.

Update on Munkhuush

I arrived in Memphis last night about 6:30ish.  Went straight to the hospital--thanks to a new bloggy friend (isn't the Internet a blessing?!) to be with Dolgor.  Bittersweet indeed.  She's my spiritual daughter and dear friend; only wish I was seeing her under different circumstances.

Munkhuush began occupational therapy yesterday, which wore him out!  He was pretty fussing and tired the rest of the day and would not eat.

By about 8pm he started having a low-grade fever.  His cough is continuing.  Two or three times yesterday he coughed so hard he threw-up, which greatly concerned Dolgor.  But the doctors feel that this vomiting is due to the cough and not due to pressure on his brain.

He had the drainage tube removed from his head yesterday as well.  Now it's just watching and waiting to make sure that the brain deals with the spinal fluid properly so that he will not need a shunt put in.

They also got the report from the lab confirming that the tumor was cancerous.  They are now looking at a year's worth of treatment--chemotherapy and radiation.

For all my prayer warriors who know how to bring heaven to earth:

~Munkhuush has minimal movement on his left side--hands and feet.  He is moving his right arm more, but the first time he moved his left arm was this morning while I was praying for him.  We must have increased movement all around.

~His vision is still minimal.  He responds to light but does not follow objects or appear to see.  The doctors say that as the swelling goes down this should improve.

~This nasty cough needs to GO!

~Rest for Dolgor.  Don't know how anyone gets any good rest in a hospital with people coming in and out at all hours.  Praying that the sleep she does get will be twice as restful!

~Amaa (Munkhuush's daddy) and their daughter will be applying for a visa next week.  Pray for favor.

~Pray and believe for a miracle.  The doctors can give a year's prognosis, but we know the Great Physician who still does the miraculous.

Leaving on a Jet Plane

Thanks to the very generous donations of friends of this blog and members of The Revival Center, bright and early in the morning I'm leaving for Memphis to spend a few days with Dolgor and Munkh-Erdene.  I'll be gone until Friday.

Last night Munkh-Erdene had a fever and has had some coughing and breathing difficulty.  Thankfully, his lungs are clear, according to the chest x-ray.

Please be in prayer for:

~Munkh-Erdene to remain fever free and breathing to be easy.

~ Continuing strength for him and that he daily get stronger and stronger.

~The continued good health of Dolgor.

~Munkh-Erdene's Daddy and big sister in Mongolia.  I know they miss him!

~Safe travels for me and strength.  Pray that I do not have any morning sickness while traveling!

~The kids and Gana while I am away.  I wrote them an entire book--what to eat, what to do for school, what chores to do, etc.--while I am gone.  :-)  Also pray for my girlfriends and mom who are taking shifts with my children while Gana is at work.  What a wonderful community of caring people I'm blessed to know!

Post-Surgery Update from Dolgor

6pm, Memphis time:  Hello friends, it is been a long day, surgery has not finished yet, doctors must be tired now. it is been 8 hours since the surgery started, now they are doing MRI and will see that anything is left or not from the tumour. they give me update once in a hour. If something is left from surgery they will continue the surgery. Munhuush is doing good, everything is stable.

8:30pm: Hello brothers and sisters, God has answered our prayers. Everything went well with Munhuush and neurosurgeon told that they removed all the tumour. It was bloody tumour and soon Munhuush will be intensive care room. They send some tissue to the pathology. Thank you so much for your prayers and supports. Love, Dolgor

The baby is now in intensive care and recovering.  Pray for Dolgor who is fighting a cold--coughing, stuffy nose, etc.

Munkh-Erdene Is In Surgery

Have I mentioned that Munkh-Erdene means ETERNAL TREASURE?

The doctors who are performing the surgery. 
Pray for them. 
They have been in surgery for about 2 hours so far and have about 4 hours to go. 

I just got off the phone with Dolgor.  She said the doctor just called her and said that the baby is doing very well.  He is stable.  They are still working through all the tissue to reach the tumor.  Dolgor sounds stronger today.  Please keep praying for her strength and rest.  The time difference and stress is starting to wear on her.

Newest information about Munkh-Erdene

Dolgor, Munkh-Erdene, and Amaa in Mongolia

He is due to have surgery at St. Jude's Wednesday morning at 7.  Pre-op at 6am.

The doctors say the surgery will last 6-8 hours.

So, please lift up your voices in prayer tomorrow.  I will update all you prayer warriors as I am able.

I really feel that we need to pray from a place of victory.  So, let's begin tomorrow with worship--intense worship to the Lord who has already won the victory and given us everything in Christ!

Post-Surgery

He is in a Memphis Hospital, not yet at St. Jude's.  He's had a surgery to relieve to hydrocephalus and an MRI of his brain.  Right now he's resting.

Another Update

Received from Amaa this afternoon:  Dolgor just called me from another hospital of Memphis, now baby breathing is not strong because of big pressure from brain to pulmonary. They had hair cut in baby's right side of head. Doctors will surgery for hydrocephalus  and do MRI for baby here. And they will send him as soon as possible to St. Jude's for neorusurgery with Dr.Gajjar Amar.

Please pray:

~For the pressure to be relieved from his brain.
~For Dr. Gaijar Amar at St. Jude's to walk in wisdom and to operate under the power of the Holy Spirit.
~For Munkh-Erdene to breath freely, getting plenty of oxygen.
~For safety and peace for Dolgor's family still in Mongolia.

Update on Munkh-Erdene

Dolgor and her baby flew from Seoul to Chicago yesterday.  The baby was connected to an IV the whole time.  Thankfully, there was a Christian lady sitting with Dolgor who is an ER nurse.  She helped Dolgor very much--hooking the baby up to oxygen and caring for their needs.

In Chicago, 911 emergency personal met them at the gate and assisted them through customs and to the next flight.

They are now on their way to Memphis to get to St. Jude's.  Munkh-Erdene is awake and eating.  The doctors think he got dehydrated on the first leg of the trip which is why he was so difficult to awaken in Korea.

Amaa is trying to get a visa in Mongolia to be able to join his wife.  However, working with the U.S. Consulate in Mongolia can be very difficult.  Sometimes it's nearly impossible to overcome the presumption of immigration.  They are giving him a hard time.

Please pray:

~For a miracle for Munkh-Erdene.
~For peace for the whole family.
~For divine connections.
~For wisdom for all the doctors, nurses and staff.
~Against fatigue and discouragement for Amaa and Dolgor.

Dolgor has asked that I join her in Memphis.  At the moment I do not have the finances to do so.  Pray that if I could be of any help or comfort to her that the Lord would provide the means.

Urgent Prayer Request: Munkh-Erdene

Our dear friends and spiritual children in Mongolia, Amaa and Dolgor are going through something no parent ever wants to even imagine.  Their little son--just two years old--has a brain tumor.  His name is Munkh-Erdene.

About a month ago he had a bout of vomiting and it was diagnosed as food poisoning.  And every now and then he would vomit some more and the doctors still said food poisoning.  Then on the 14th of March he had a CT scan and it was found that he has a brain tumor, a 4.6 x 4.3cm sized mass.

They consulted with the doctors in the Ulaanbaatar, the capital city of Mongolia.  It was decided that he should not have surgery in Mongolia.  The doctors did not have the skill or technology to reasonably assume a successful surgery.

Thankfully, Dolgor's (who works on Bible translation) boss was able to contact some American doctors and found a spot for Munkh-Erdene at St. Jude's Children's Hospital.  Miraculously they were able to get the baby a passport and an American visa within a week.  He is due to have emergency surgery at St. Jude's as soon as he arrives.  St. Jude's will put Dolgor up in a home and provide groceries and transportation.

Since his diagnosis he has declined rapidly.  No longer able to stand on his own, sleeping heavily for long periods of time, and crying when he is awake.  He can no longer even hold up his own head.

Dolgor and her baby left Mongolia a couple days ago.  They flew to Korea and had a connecting flight to Chicago.  While in Korea the baby has taken a turn for the worst and was rushed to a Korean hospital.  They did another scan and said the tumor has grown.  He is now asleep and cannot be awakened.  The doctors are trying to relieve the pressure on his ventricles so that he can travel to the States for surgery.  At this time, he cannot travel. 

The hospital where they are currently staying it is very expensive and Amaa and Dolgor cannot afford it--even without the surgery.

To top it all off, Amaa is in Mongolia and Dolgor is in Korea with the baby by herself.  I can only imagine how overwhelming the whole thing must be.  They are both very scared for their son and are clinging to Jesus with everything they have.  Amaa would like to go to Korea and be with his wife and child--but at the moment there are no finances for that.

My dear friends, PLEASE PRAY!  Pray for a miracle for Munkh-Erdene.  Pray for provision and peace.  Pray however the Holy Spirit leads you to pray.

[UPDATE: 3/27   4:30pm   Dolgor just emailed.  The baby is feeling a bit better and is now awake.  So, they are trying to get the next flight out of Korea to the States.  From there they will need a connecting flight to get to St. Jude's.  Keep storming heaven friends!  We are believing for miracles!]
