Wasting our lives and glorifying God

Wasting our lives and glorifying God
Notice God's unutterable waste of saints, according to the judgment of the world. God plants His saints in the most useless places. We say - God intends me to be here because I am so useful. Jesus never estimated His life along the line of the greatest use. God puts His saints where they will glorify Him, and we are no judges at all of where that is. ~Oswald Chambers, My Utmost For His Highest, August 10

On our way to Italy....

After three blissful days in Paris we got on an overnight train headed for the Italian coast.

Cheap train accommodations.  Six people to a cabin.
But, we slept the whole time, so it was OK.

We passed through Monaco.  We were there no more than 15 minutes.  But, fun to say that we were there.

Enough time to get a cappuccino and drink it on the train platform.

Chapel by the train station in Monaco.

Changed trains from an express overnight train to a slower local train.  Seats instead of bunks and gorgeous views!

Brushing up on my non-existent Italian and figuring out where we should spend the night.  (No, we didn't have reservations or any plans in place.  That makes it more fun.)

Having a panini on the train platform.

Next stop.....Cinque Terre!

No way! I didn't know you went to Italy, too! The Cinque Terre region is the home of my favorite flatbread, farinata. Plus those views. Crowded, old houses on cliffs. ~sigh~ I can't wait to read about it!
