Wasting our lives and glorifying God

Wasting our lives and glorifying God
Notice God's unutterable waste of saints, according to the judgment of the world. God plants His saints in the most useless places. We say - God intends me to be here because I am so useful. Jesus never estimated His life along the line of the greatest use. God puts His saints where they will glorify Him, and we are no judges at all of where that is. ~Oswald Chambers, My Utmost For His Highest, August 10

Old Music

My personal trainer (who I have not yet seen professionally since having River) is also my boys' Kung Fu Sifu.  When one of his exercise classes is going he plays classic Christian Contemporary Music.  I'm talkin' Petra from back in the day.  Also, some old Newsboys--like Shine.

Hearing one of their songs the other day,  it kind of got stuck in my head.  So I was in my kitchen jammin' to "Spirit Thing."  That led to the following exchange:

Me (singing): "It's just a Spirit thing, it's just a holy nudge, it's like a circuit judge in the brain..."

Israel: Mom, that song plays at Kung Fu.

Me: I know.

Israel: Well, how do you know that song?

Me: Israel, this song is old.  I listened to it when I was in high school.

Israel: So, we're listening to old music?  Like from the nineteen hundreds?

Me: Um.......yeah.
