Wasting our lives and glorifying God

Wasting our lives and glorifying God
Notice God's unutterable waste of saints, according to the judgment of the world. God plants His saints in the most useless places. We say - God intends me to be here because I am so useful. Jesus never estimated His life along the line of the greatest use. God puts His saints where they will glorify Him, and we are no judges at all of where that is. ~Oswald Chambers, My Utmost For His Highest, August 10

Story Time

I was snuggling with Saraa on the couch this afternoon.  "Tell me a story," I said.

She replied, "Once upon a time, there was a bear.  Who ate a human.  The end."

I said, "That's scary!  I don't want a scary story about a bear!"

Without missing a beat she said, "OK.  Once upon a time there was a tiger.  Who did not eat a human."

Hi Daja,
I wasn't sure how else to contact you. I was wondering if you had any advice on a baby carrier. Several people have recommended the Moby wrap. I have also looked at several slings and the Boba wrap. I used a padded sling last time, but it didn't fit right. Right now I am leaning toward one of the wraps. If you have any advice I would appreciate it. Thanks.

P.S. We are expecting our second baby in August.

Sorry that I didn't see this until now. CONGRATULATIONS on the new baby!!!! Yippeeeeee!!!!

Anyway, my two favorite carriers are the Maya Wrap and the Moby Wrap. But, they are very different and each have their pros and cons.

The Maya is super easy to use, ridiculously so. You can put this on with one arm still holding the baby. It's so easy to wash and dries really quickly. Works for big and small babies up to about 2 years old and you can carry them in the front/side or on the back. I love the pocket at the end of the Maya, perfect for stashing my keys and wallet so that the whole diaper bag can stay in the car. The downsides: they are a very particular style of fabric--that may not match your style. I find some of them to be kind of unattractive. Some (like the solid black) are OK. Also, it can get tiring on the one shoulder, although the wrap does hold the baby tighter and higher than most ring slings.

The Moby is super comfortable. Seriously the most comfortable sling I've ever worn. I can wear that thing for HOURS and still be OK. It's the most versatile. Baby can be facing out or in, on the front or on the back, lying down or sitting up, completely covered or with skin showing if it's hot. The fabrics are nice and come in quite a variety. I have a plain brown one that matched almost everything I wear. The downside is that it can be kind of hot if it's smack in the middle of summer. It doesn't breathe as easy as the Maya. And there is a learning curve learning to wrap it and especially to sling the baby on the back without the use of the mirror and an extra set of hands. Once you get it, it's WONDERFUL. But it did take some practice and some trial and error to feel comfortable in the various holds.

The price points are about the same, I think.

I have both wraps and I use the Moby the most.

Hope that helps!!!

Thank you for your comments. They are very helpful. We are so excited about the new baby! Especially since we weren't sure when and if we were going to be able to have another one due to some health issues.
Thanks again,
Celeste
