Wasting our lives and glorifying God

Wasting our lives and glorifying God
Notice God's unutterable waste of saints, according to the judgment of the world. God plants His saints in the most useless places. We say - God intends me to be here because I am so useful. Jesus never estimated His life along the line of the greatest use. God puts His saints where they will glorify Him, and we are no judges at all of where that is. ~Oswald Chambers, My Utmost For His Highest, August 10

What To Name The Baby

I just took a Baby Name Creator Quiz on a parenting site.  I answered questions about my favorite movies, favorite way to spend a Friday night, etc. and it gave me a personality analysis and picked baby names for us.  Here are my results.

What do you think?

You’re the free spirit among your friends, voted most likely to do your own thing. You’d prefer a baby name that’s as unique and creative as you are, so you’ve trashed the top-10 lists and are looking more to art, literature, film, and foreign languages for inspiration.

Think about these suggestions:

Boy names: Pablo, Jules, Dashiell, Sebastian, Pollack, Xander, Ansel, Beck
Girl names: Mercy, Cadence, Harlow, Frida, Aquinnah, Lolly, Ciara, Mabel

Pablo Gombojav, he's one of the Backyardagins, I think.  Xander, I'm sure every child would relish having a name that started with an X.  Ansel.  As in Adams?

Or if we have a girl......Mercy.  I like it.  When I get exasperated with the kids and I say, "Oh, mercy!" I could actually be calling her at the same time!  Time-saver perhaps.  Frida.  There's no way that could get made fun of.  In fact, maybe I do like it.  I could sing, "I am Frida laugh.  I am Frida dance.  I am Frida live for you....."  (Maybe only mildly funny to those who sing "I Am Free" at their church.)

Lolly.  That just cracks me up.  Lolly (Pop) Gombojav.

I think I'll stick with normal sensible names.....like Ganchimeg and Ihbeleg.

(Take the test and tell me your results.  Maybe I'll like your baby names better than mine.)

You’re the social butterfly of your circle, as fun as you are friendly. You’re also in the know about what’s cool right now -- and that means you’re more likely to be setting the trends than following them.

Boy names: Eli, Connor, Parker, Liam, Harrison, Oliver, Jaden, Finn, Holden, Quinn

Girl names: Aubrey, Isabella, Addison, Kate, Sienna, Miranda, Poppy, Mia, Hadley, Camryn

Love em all... :-) And oldest daughter is going to name her new baby "Parker" if it's a boy, on April 18th. I even suggested Liam as Parker's middle name... but I think they're going with Parker Levi.

I take it back... I love em all except "Poppy". Poppy Will... but Grammy Won't.

:-DD

I got the same results as Andrea! Most of them wouldn't be too bad! (And I kinda have a Kate.)

Your style is classic: think the girl-next-door meets Audrey Hepburn. So you too gravitate toward all-American names that give your little one a sense of stability and history. Opt for a family name (might have a gem a few generations back) or one of these classics:
Boy names: Benjamin, Ethan, Josiah, Jefferson, Samuel, Henry, Nathan, Caleb
Girl names: Hannah, Adelaide, Nora, Alice, June, Ruth, Eliza, Regina, Pearl, Claire

Wow... I named my oldest son a family name after his uncle, my youngest son is named after his Grandfather & Father so he is a III. All my children have Biblical names (Even though I spelled me oddly) (Tymothy David II, Jacen Michael, James Melton III, Elisabeth Marie (we call her Elisa!), and Rabecca JoAnn)

I agree with others Daja you & Gana do a GREAT job of naming your beautiful children!!!!

i got the classic girl next door response, which i totally disagree is me...this is the problem though, i am the kind of girl that likes a book, a concert, or a party, and i like Juno, Bourne Identity AND breakfast at tiffanys, just depends on what mood i am in :)
hence having a jackson (popular) and an ayla (that no one can pronouce correctly) who KNOWS what baby three will be named!!
i LOVE your names daja!

Sara, you like my actual children's names or the ones the quiz suggested? :-)

We have no idea what our new baby will be named, either. I can tell you that it will not be Xander. LOL!
