Notice God's unutterable waste of saints, according to the judgment of the world. God plants His saints in the most useless places. We say - God intends me to be here because I am so useful. Jesus never estimated His life along the line of the greatest use. God puts His saints where they will glorify Him, and we are no judges at all of where that is. ~Oswald Chambers, My Utmost For His Highest, August 10
On the feast of St. Francis most Catholic churches have a pet blessing ceremony... and every year it makes the front page of our local newspaper. :) I love to see Fr. Walter out in front of the church, with his vestments on & hold water in hand, blessing all the beloved animals in people's arms & on leashes, while sprinkling holy water on them all. Makes my heart smile. :) Just as this picture did.

And what, pray tell, is Penny fasting for Lent?
I am *sure* St. Francis is smiling!

I HOPE Penny is fasting chewing on things that don't belong to her.
