The third stop in our self-guided castle tour: Mont Saint Michel.
This tidal island and commune in Normandy with the population of a whoppin' 41 people was built to honor St. Michael. On the very tip is a gold sculpture of St. Michael slaying the dragon.
The entrance appeared to be like the other castles and fortresses we visited. Here we are sitting on another cannon.
The entrance led us through tiny alleys with a few touristy
Another statue of Mary with Jesus, this one a pietà, where Jesus' head has crumbled away. And still she faithfully holds him.
Wandering through this medieval monastery provided many opportunities to share the symbolism and beauty of Christ's message with Gana's family. Here I am standing at the foot of the cross with Gankhuag, explaining how Jesus is the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. I claim this as a prophetic picture that one day we will both stand together at the foot of the cross, embracing Jesus. (Will you agree with me on that?)
Gana's camera battery died midway through our climb to the top. So, we are without some breathtaking pictures. The only way to describe it is to say that I know where I'd like to be standing when the rapture takes place. It was so incredible that I thought how great it would actually be to fly up there with St. Michael and see what he sees on our way to glory.
If you ever go, it's beautiful to climb at night. They have concerts playing in various rooms--flute, piano, strings. In the very top, a sanctuary where they still have a daily mass, a lady was playing the harp. Heavenly. Maybe we had begun our assent into heaven.

I'm not sure how many times I'm going to say, "Amazing!" or "Awesome!" or "Wonderful!" but your trip and all these lovely places are all of the above.
And, I am agreeing with you that someday you will stand with Gana's entire family at the foot of the cross, worshiping together!
I'm agreeing with you about embracing the Cross!
Do you know the St. Michael prayer:
Saint Michael the Archangel,
defend us in battle;
be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil.
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray:
and do thou, O Prince of the heavenly host,
by the power of God,
thrust into hell Satan and all the evil spirits
who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls.
Amen.
Mwah!
